La Factoria dels Reixos has begun to reveal some details of the new project, which can be seen at the Teatre de la Llotja on January 2 and 3, with 10 sessions scheduled. High Priest Felix La Rosa, accompanied by Festival Advisor Xavi Blanco, presents the show with new scenography and live music, which will have the artistic direction of Ramon Molins and the musical direction of Anthony Tolmos.
The city mayor explained the change of location to Llotja, a space that will allow us to host a great work that “highlights Lleida’s talent.” This is La Paeria’s most important performing arts production and “made possible thanks to our creatives and professionals,” LaRosa noted.
Councilor Blanco also drew attention to the fact that it is a production that highlights local talent and invites everyone to enjoy the preparation for the most magical night of the year. The change of location responds to the desire to unify the factory as a theatrical and musical performance.
The artistic director of the show explained that the new location will make it possible to further emphasize the theatrical character and make the event more magical. There will be 20 performers, 15 dancers, live musicians, etc., Mullins explained. He stressed, “It is more than just a musical, because it will be a journey through this magical world.” Through different characters, a journey will be taken to discover the imagination that awakens Night of the Rocks. There will be very enthusiastic guides as you enter the facility and you will soon see the team working that night: Royal Mail couriers, gift wrappers, tortillas, charcoal burners, or ‘umpalumpa’ workers, etc.
All this will be accompanied by music. Anthony Tolmos said that “the magic can really be seen in the rehearsals they do” and that one of the specials of this year is that all the music will be live, with a band of 8 musicians and a group of actors and actresses who will be singing live.
The participating companies, in addition to the orchestra, are: Lo Somriure Solidari, Zum Zum Teatre, Campi qui pugi, Xip Xap and Tandor & Paxton. Presentation and driving will be in charge of Jesús Agelet and Begonya Ferrer; Audiovisual from Stage Lab; Scenography by Essina Blackton; Sound and light, from Vtècnics en ruta, and sign language interpretation, from Deixa’ns Signar.
