The Miami Heat needed to pull out the victory in Monday night’s game. LeBron James and Chris Bosh ensured their team did.
Tied at 91 against the Portland Trail Blazers with less than thirty seconds remaining in regulation, James dribbled the ball along the top of the key until the Heat’s shot clock began winding down. After a Mario Chalmers screen, he drove toward the basket and hit a contested left-handed layup to put Miami up 93-91.
The Blazers had just 11 seconds to either tie or win the contest, but Bosh’s block on Damian Lillard sealed the game for the Heat.
Miami had lost seven of their last eleven games, but with the win are now just two games back of the struggling Indiana Pacers for the one-seed in the Eastern Conference.
