Yaman Kripa Italian record in the Seville Marathon

The Italian, in his second race in the discipline, finished fourth but by 2h06'06' he broke the new national record. The personal and Olympic standards of Vaniel and Meucci were also achieved

Less than a year after his debut in this discipline in Milan, Yemane Crippa, who we remember holds the Italian records for the 3,000, 5,000, 10,000 (on the track) and the half marathon, has proven himself a champion. In the Seville Marathon (his second ever) he finished with a time of 2:06:06 in fourth place but signed a new national record: the previous one belonged to Elias Aouani: 2:07:16 in Barcelona on March 19, 2023.


These are the parts that Krippa set in the race: 29.44 in the tenth kilometer, 44.52 in the fifteenth kilometer, 59.55 in the twentieth kilometer and crossing the half in 1:03.14. At kilometer 25, 1:30.04, then at kilometer 35, 1:45.23. 1:59.54 at 40.

In the race, Yemen was able to catch up with and overtake his compatriot Ayoub Fenil, who seemed to be the favorite, but he slowed down after the 30th kilometer and finished seventh in 2 hours and 07:07, which is also lower than the previous record and therefore the second best team. An Italian performance, which is Also personal for Daniele Meucci (11), who finished the race in a time of 2:07:48. These two time trials also fall within the Olympic standards. The Seville Marathon was won by Ethiopian Derisa Geleta Olfata with a time of 2 hours 03'27″, a new personal and league record. Frenchman Mahad Amdouni came in second place with a time of 2:03.47, and Ethiopian Gashaw Ayali came third with a time of 2:04.53.
