A new week begins and with it we have a new price for electricity. For this Monday, April 8, 2024, the average cost of electricity is €0.52 per MWh. In other words, the price decreased on average compared to the previous day.
Specifically, it decreased by 3.53 euros, and the price of light was, on average, on Sunday 4.05 euros/MWh. It is true that it is not a very sharp decline, given the values we are seeing recently, the price remains in the current trend. This is how we can know the daily data it providesIberian Energy Market Operator (Oh, my God).
Electricity prices today, Monday, April 8, hour by hour
As in previous days, the cost of electricity will also fall from 0 euros this Monday. Naturally, this time will only be for one hour of the day. On the other hand, there are several time periods in which electricity is paid at 0 euros.

For example, between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM, the cost of a light will be €0. This also happens between 9:00 and 16:00, between 17:00 and 20:00, and between 23:00 and 00:00. Therefore, these are the hours that can be used to consume large amounts of light.
- 9:00 – 16:00: 0 EUR/MWh
- 16:00 – 17:00: -0.01 €/MWh
- 17:00 – 20:00: 0 EUR/MWh
- 23:00 – 00:00: 0 EUR/MWh
As happens every day, just as there are some cheap hours, there are also some more expensive hours during the day. Of course, this difference between the two is barely noticeable. The fact is that the most expensive daylight hours are paid at 3.25 euros per megawatt hour.
So, on this day you don't have to worry too much about the times you put it in the washing machine, oven and the rest, as you will hardly notice a difference. But if you want to save both yes and no, look at the most expensive hours of the day:
- 7:00 – 9:00: €3.25/MWh
- 21:00 – 22:00: €3.25/MWh
