Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Physical copies still require downloading

As reported by Mighty Ape, a New Zealand supermarket chain, the Hard copies to Star Wars Jedi Survivor They will require downloads. The information was also shared via Reddit, as you can see directly below, and it’s possible to see by the image that “Download Required” is written on the cover.

This is actually not a huge surprise since we already know that Star Wars Jedi Survivor weighs in at around 147GB. Regular Ultra-HD Blu-ray discs can hold about 100GB of data, so it’s impossible to keep all of your game on disc. Another solution was to include more discs, but of course that’s an additional cost to EA. However, we don’t know if the disc contained only part of the data or if Electronic Arts decided to include proof of purchase just to start playing the game, and then download all of the game’s 147GB of space from the PlayStation and PlayStation Stores.

Anyway, it seems that those who buy history will also need to create a downloads. Right now we believe there are quite a few gamers out there who own a current generation console but no internet connection. The problem is likely to be more serious for those with limited connectivity (still common in different parts of the US, for example).

If you have purchased Star Wars Jedi Survivor in digital format, we remind you that you can pre-load in advance, namely on April 26th. The release date is instead set for April 28, 2023.
