Ferran Adriala got it right

Things are happening in Barcelona and lately a lot of good things. So much so that it is impossible to know all of them. A few days ago, the Ship2B Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary in conjunction with its annual Impact Forum. Created by Maite Vibla, Xavi Pont and current CEO Clara Navarro, this foundation was one of the first promoters of the influencer economy in Spain and has a board of trustees made up of some of Barcelona’s most important investors and entrepreneurs such as Josep Santacro, Luis Segui and Marcel Brunera. In these 10 years, they have facilitated the acceleration of more than 200 startups, accompanied 30 companies in their transformation towards the impact economy, and supported 80 social enterprises. They also have the most important investment fund in Spain in this ecosystem.

The event will be attended by Ship2b Foundation President Ainhoa Grandes; Director of the Banc Sabadell Foundation, Sonia Molero; Josep Pont, from Borges; Director of the Juan Entrecanales Foundation in Azcarate, Inés Entrecanales; BASF Managing Director Carles Navarro; GVC Gaesco Managing Director, Carme Hurtala, and CaixaBank Sustainability Communications Director, Javier Tomé. Over the following days, interesting success stories were presented, such as that of Adolfo Domínguez’s CEO, Adriana Domínguez, or that of Techô’s founder, Blanca Hernández. Those in attendance included Josep Luis Santfeliu, of Asabys Partners; RocaJunyent CEO Joan Roca and Marta Angieri of Grup Ametller.

Finally, the Impact Forum brought together more than 40 speakers from across sectors and 500 leaders from the business, financial, philanthropic and public sectors, with the sole aim of discussing the economics of impact, and highlighting the role of leadership and collaboration in transforming the world. System. Well, yes, the world is changing and some still don’t realize it.

From a street like this…

They explain that on the day Ferran Adrià went to open the Estimar restaurant, in the former Bulli Rafa Zafra area, located on the Carrer de Sant Antoni dels Sombrerers del Born, he said: “Only one thing can come from a street of such goodness.” Well, yes, Ferran got it right. That was in 2016, and today this small street is home to one of the finest restaurants in Europe. Mick Jagger went there recently, but Hillary Clinton, Mario Vargas Llosa, Pep Guardiola and Leo Messi have been there too. I’m telling you this because Ferran Adrià himself, his brother Albert and the chef and ideologue of one of the best restaurants in the world, Rasmus Munk, came to dinner this week.

Monk is an eccentric 32-year-old, and at his restaurant Alchemist on the outskirts of Copenhagen, you can only have lunch or dinner for a minimum of €657 per person. No drink included. Of course, it is more than just a traditional meal, it is an experience that moves between culinary arts, performing arts, technology and design. If they prefer not to have to choose a drink, there is a special menu that includes wine pairings, but it actually starts at €2,000. Yes, yes, definitely. By the way, don’t try to go in a group. They only accept a maximum of six people per table. Oh! The waiting list is at least three months. Finally, Estimar is here next door, and considering that, it’s a gift…

Sierra, on night patrol

At the municipal level, there is no politician today, except for the mayor Jaume ColboneWho is more active daily than the head of the municipal group of the Popular Party, Danielle Sirera. This week we saw him with the president of Boqueria, Jordi Mas, denouncing the bike path in Carrer del Ferjos, alongside Isabel Díaz Ayuso and in six other events… What we did not know was the night route he took with the Urban Guard of Ciutat Vela. Well, yes, from 10.30pm until around 3am. Unfortunately, not everything that happens in Barcelona is good. Sirera himself was able to keep a close eye on some fights, a lot of heroin, people sleeping on the street, a noise warning… well, that’s a lot to improve on.
