I wrote this without realizing not every quiz on Sporcle can be embedded and of course all the ones I picked cannot be, so you’ll have to click on the link. Sorry about that guys. Next time I’ll make sure to only use quizzes that are embeddable. Also yeah, NBA Trivia Tuesday is a new thing that you’ll be seeing on a regular basis on the HP Basketball Network.

Well it’s September now so just wake me up when this month ends. Haha am I right? Hilarious and original, the perfect joke. No, but let’s be honest, September sucks. School’s started, football’s started, baseball has gotten to the point where everyone’s sick of the regular season and just wants the playoffs to start, and to top it off, we’re still months away from the NBA starting again. So what better way to pass the time than turning on some Drake and playing NBA quizzes on Sporcle.

So I clicked on the “random NBA quiz” button and it transported me to a quiz asking me to name every Atlanta Hawks opening night starter from 1990-2013. I’m no Hawks fan, but I thought I’d still do okay at this one. Nope, only 55/115. Sure the last four or five years were pretty easy, but man the early 2000s Hawks were rough. In 2000-2001 it appears they started Jim Jackson, Jason Terry, Roshown McLeod, Alan Henderson, and Hanno Mottola. And on that note, let’s move on.

Okay the next random quiz that popped up was about fantasy basketball so I just skipped that one because who cares. In its wake, a challenge to “name the 2008-2009 NBA daily points leaders” was staring me in the face. Boom. 155/173, 89 percent. That’s a B+. Spoiler alert, but the funniest name on this list was Chris Duhon, and the only thing that comes to mind when I hear his name is the travel dance so let’s have a look at that.

Alright, the next one that popped up was asking me to name MLB MVPs so I moved on and found myself wondering if I could name all of the 2011 All-Stars in three minutes. Well this is embarrassing, but I forgot Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki. (And Blake Griffin and Manu Ginobili.) Like, you think it’s so obvious but when time’s running out you get flustered and start typing in LaMarcus Aldridge and Zach Randolph and Rudy Gay instead. Oh well, 21/25 is pretty solid.

Okay I guess that’s enough for this week. Try these ones out and see if you can beat my scores. If you do just don’t laugh at me. Or do laugh at me whatever I don’t care. You’re all NERDS anyway. See you next time.

(Also if anyone knows how we could set up an HP readers group to turn this into a contest, shoot me an email: jackmmaloney at gmail dot com. I tried to do it myself but I couldn’t figure it out.)

Dam…I got you on the Hawks startrs – 92. But you look at the ones you’ve missed shaking your head like -“my god, how did I miss Laettner, Rivers, Malone, Norman, Lang etc” That was tough though – the early 2000’s
