The Marathon: Here comes multiplayer leader Andrew Witts from Halo Infinite, and go to Bungie

Revolving doors between 343 Industries, Epic Games, and Bungie: Andrew Waitsformer commander Halo Infinite multiplayer designerI recently moved to Bungie to work on it marathonthe recently revealed new multiplayer shooter tied to the old team franchise.

In between, Waits actually went through a one-year stint at Epic Games: the developer was actually lead gameplay designer on Team Fortnite from April 2022 to July 2023, after leaving his position at 343 Industries that covered it from 2019 to 2022.

However, he remains focused on what appears to be his specialty, or rather gameplay design on a purely multiplayer front, an area in which he has shown considerable experience and ability, which he will test again with the development of Marathon.

However, it’s curious to note how the links between 343 Industries and Bungie remain fairly constant, showing how the roots of the two teams are fundamentally common, even if in this case there is a boycott of Epic Games to enrich the subject’s curricula.

Marathon is the new game from Bungie that was announced during the recent PlayStation Showcase as one of several live service projects in development at the first party from PlayStation Studios.
Given the experience of the team involved, this is likely to be one of the largest – if not the largest – projects of this type under development at Sony.

Marathon is related to the old Bungie franchise, created among the first projects of the company and associated in particular with Mac platforms, but it seems that it has been deeply reworked with this new incarnation, its cross-platform nature and therefore will not be a PlayStation exclusive.
