Amazon Unveils Echo Show 16, Echo Time, Alexa Photo Frame and Upgraded Smart Speakers

Amazon has expanded its smart home lineup with five new Alexa-powered devices, introducing upgraded displays, speakers, a smart alarm clock and a digital photo frame. The latest products feature Alexa+, the company’s enhanced artificial intelligence assistant, alongside improvements in audio performance, home automation and personalized experiences.

The new lineup includes the Echo Show 16, Echo Dot, Echo Studio with Home Camera, Echo Time and Alexa Photo Frame. Amazon says Alexa+ can support more natural conversations, ask follow-up questions and complete complex, multi-step tasks. The service remains available at no additional cost to Amazon Prime members.

Echo Show 16 Brings a Larger Display and Enhanced Smart Home Controls

The Echo Show 16 replaces the previous 15-inch model with a 16-inch Full HD display, offering 10% more viewing area. Its redesigned anodized aluminum frame is nearly 40% thinner than its predecessor.

Amazon also offers an optional Nanomatte display that uses anti-glare technology similar to the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, reducing reflections by more than 90%.

The device features eight micro woofers, two tweeters and a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera with automatic framing. Night vision is also included for the first time on an Echo Show device.

Fire TV Integration and New Screen Styles

Amazon says the Echo Show 16 delivers 20% more computing power and includes a complete Fire TV experience with a remote control.

Three customizable Screen Styles allow users to configure the display as a family organizer, smart home dashboard or digital photo frame. The smart home interface also incorporates the new Alexa Home Map.

The Echo Show 16 is available for preorder at $499.99, while the Nanomatte version costs $569.99. Amazon is offering a $100 preorder discount, with shipments expected later in 2026.

New Echo Dot Adds AI Processing and Stronger Bass

Amazon’s updated Echo Dot introduces the company’s AZ3 processor with a dedicated AI Accelerator, designed to improve Alexa performance.

The speaker includes four microphones and a built-in smart home hub supporting Zigbee, Matter and Thread connectivity standards.

An integrated eero Wi-Fi extender can expand wireless coverage by up to 1,000 square feet. Amazon also claims the new model produces 50% more bass than the previous-generation Echo Dot.

The device is available for $99.99 in Graphite, Glacier White, Agave Green and Coral Pink.

A children’s edition, priced at $109.99, comes in Octopus and Penguin designs and includes a one-year Amazon Kids+ subscription.

Echo Studio with Home Camera Combines Premium Audio and Visual AI

Amazon has also introduced the Echo Studio with Home Camera, combining its premium smart speaker technology with a 13-megapixel camera.

The speaker retains the previous Echo Studio’s 3.75-inch high-excursion woofer, three full-range drivers and Dolby Atmos support.

Camera Enables New Alexa+ Features

The integrated camera introduces what Amazon describes as visual intelligence, allowing Alexa+ to interpret objects shown to the device.

Users can display a board game box to request instructions, show a cereal package to reorder the product or remotely monitor a room using Live View in the Alexa app.

Amazon also plans to enable video calling through compatible Fire TV devices.

The Echo Studio with Home Camera costs $249.99. The standard Echo Studio remains available for $219.99 for customers who prefer a speaker without a camera.

Echo Time Introduces Smart Sleep and Alarm Features

The new Echo Time is designed for bedside use, featuring a 3.2-inch circular touchscreen and hundreds of customizable clock faces.

Unlike some other Alexa devices, Echo Time does not include a camera.

Its optional smart alarm uses Amazon’s Omnisense technology, including ultrasound-based breathing detection, to estimate lighter stages of sleep.

The system can wake users within a selected window of 10 to 60 minutes before their scheduled alarm without requiring a wearable device.

A gradually brightening display also simulates sunrise to provide a gentler waking experience.

Echo Time costs $199.99 and comes in Graphite, Glacier White and Coral Pink. The Amazon Kids Echo Time starts at $209.99, with Galactic Grape and Cosmic Lime color options.

Alexa Photo Frame Uses AI to Organize Personal Pictures

Amazon’s Alexa Photo Frame introduces voice-assistant functionality to a dedicated digital picture frame.

The device features a 10.1-inch semi-matte touchscreen designed to minimize glare and integrates with Amazon Photos.

Alexa+ can automatically select images for display while filtering out screenshots, receipts and other less relevant files.

Users can also request photographs featuring particular people or vacations through voice commands and attach spoken notes to individual pictures.

The Alexa Photo Frame costs $199.99 in Black, while Birch and Walnut wood-frame versions are priced at $229. Each purchase includes 90 days of Alexa+ access.

Amazon Expands Its AI-Powered Smart Home Ecosystem

Amazon’s latest Echo launches reflect its broader effort to integrate conversational AI into everyday household devices.

With improved smart home connectivity, camera-based assistance, entertainment features and personalized displays, the new lineup offers customers additional ways to use Alexa+ throughout their homes.

The expanded range also gives consumers more choices across different price points, from compact smart speakers to larger displays and specialized bedside devices, as Amazon continues developing its connected home ecosystem.
