Technottown Weekend Appointments at the Science Center

In Villa Torlonia, the activities proposed by Technotown, Center for Creative Science in School Management, Training and Labor of Roma Capitale, continue the organization and scientific sponsorship of Zètema Progetto Cultura.

A true creative factory where, starting from adolescence, girls and boys can, with a special entry ticket worth 1 €, discover and express their potential, approaching the world of research, innovation and experience opportunities to meet, discuss and collaborate.

With the support of Structure teachers, young users can actually participate in courses, meetings, talks and creative workshops.

times of the week

Among the proposals of the week, Conversations: Electronic Pills dedicated to electronic music, which Ricicla believes creates, for the conscious and sustainable use of the 3D printer, molds and resin in Villa Torlonia and activities related to photography as alternative photographic printing technologies: cyanotype and antotype, a portrait in the studio.

By participating in Creative Factories, you can contribute to the co-creation of materials and contents. Over the weekend, factories are scheduled: Small Recycling Lutherie, to make acoustic musical instruments from recycled materials; Sonic’s workshop for building electro-acoustic machines; Sneak peek 3D maker, to work and create a 3D printer; Resin and laser molds, for making resin objects.

With an admission ticket, you can also access the Casa del Podcast, located on the third floor, to discover the world of digital audio content and learn how to create podcasts by telling stories, ideas and cultures.

You can also visit the exhibition “Vintage Memory Tour”, curated by Gabriele Catanzaro, Scientific Director of the structure, which is held in the exhibition spaces on the ground floor and first floor. A journey from human memory to that of machines, between ancient technologies and self-creations, to discover a way of observing, representing and telling the world around us. In the windows, in addition to the old technological items, there are copies of: arithmetic instruments, cameras, space probes, fossils and much more, which were built by renovating objects such as old wine boxes, antique furniture drawers, gift paper and old vinyl, with a view to Creative recycling and the circular economy. The windows are also animated, via a QR code, by small audio files that introduce storytelling themes and objects on display. Visitors themselves can contribute to the narration by letting their story or memory relate to what is unfolded.
