workshops
Planet Estiu started this week with 18 activities of different types, with great success of participation, morning activities from Monday to Friday such as letters, Rubik’s, 3D printing or car makeovers or afternoon activities such as cooking, digital photography or baseball and football. “What we have seen is that we are an undisputed reference for young people, who look for activities that they like and participate in within the offer of our planet”, explains Daniel Marcos, youth advisor.
Highlight the activity with dogs proposed by Link a Dogs, an activity through which you can learn about the world of dogs and improve your ability to interact with these animals, which is in its second year and has been a great success.
On the other hand, we must also highlight the scriptwriting workshop, for young people who love writing, held in partnership with the Reus libraries, where young people learn and begin the art of writing, and the art of paper cutting. This year’s novelty has surprised and delighted the young people who made it. Using tin cans, paper and paints, dioramas and miniature “pop-up” scenes are recreated, which are very original and innovative works of art.
Two courses were held this week: the Batucada workshop, with percussionists from Texarango and Stay Humas at the Juan Ripoll School, in which about 25 young people participated, and the Lettering Workshop for young people over 18 years old, who entered the world of calligraphy and this art of making.
Also on Friday, the first beach trip for kayaking and paddle boarding took place; an opportunity to get to know these marine specialties in the summer and in the afternoon, the escape room experience “La Mussara” is also scheduled, with registrations for sale.
In total, more than 310 young people participated in the events this week, and over the next four weeks, more than 1,400 young people are expected to participate in the workshops and activities scheduled with registration, not including concerts and performances. From Feel On.
The activities were very successful and the proof of this is the rate of registrations. Registration opened on June 3 and in 30 minutes 350 places were filled, in one hour 600 places were filled and in three hours 1000 places were already covered.
There are currently a few activities with free places. For all those who have not registered yet or want to do something different, there are possibilities in the four-handed writing workshop, in the social media content creation workshop to learn how to create reels and stories for Instagram, or there are also places left in gymnastics, skating, BMX, freestyle dancing +18, the health promotion course, in one of the teams in the 6-hour football tournament or finally in tuppersex +18.
The programming of 92 proposals for training, cultural, creative, artistic and recreational activities for young people has been designed in conjunction with the Health and Sports Council within the Planet Reus programme which, as explained by Councillor Daniel Marcos, “wants to encourage young people to have safe, healthy, quality and enjoyable spaces for relationships and leisure time”.
The programme is supported by the National Drug Plan of the Ministry of Health.
