Project selected by Fedi-Fermi at the City of Sciences in Naples

The Fedi-Fermi Institute took part in the “Three School Days 2022 – School Renewal”, the event on education issues held in Naples at the City of Sciences from 9 to 11 November.

The event, promoted by the Region of Campania and Città della Scienza, in collaboration with Usr Campania, is aimed at teachers, school administrators, students, educators and coaches, who have the opportunity to discuss the objectives of the renovation of schools, the Ministry of Education. Implementation of the goals of the United Nations Agenda 2030, designed to keep pace with schools in the environmental and cultural transformation and in the paths of education for sustainable development envisaged through the teaching of civic education.

As part of the event, Riccardo Nicolai, Professor at the Pistoia Institute (pictured), presented the project created with Class 1 ͣ IA of AY. 2021-2022 “varies”; The work was among five selected from high schools from over a hundred applications and received a special mention for innovative applications.

Created by Fedi-Fermi students, the app is an artificial intelligence based waste recognition system that can be used by anyone to award the correct grants. The project responds to the goals of the 2030 Agenda with special reference to the macro domains of prosperity and the planet: the right of all human beings to enjoy a fulfilling life based on economic, social and technological progress in harmony with nature; Protecting the planet, on conscious consumption, combating waste, and managing natural resources in a sustainable way.
