“The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be released in 2024,” Microsoft says in papers sent to the CMA.
The Rockstar title was mentioned in the document to prove that there are many multi-platform titles with heavy shooter mechanics on the market, and according to Microsoft, GTA and Red Dead Redemption 2 also fall into this category. This is all to explain to CMA officials that even without Call of Duty, PlayStation consoles wouldn’t remain cut off from the shooter market, as Sony would like to point out.
However, Microsoft seems to be just a prediction, so nothing official is firm. Having said that, we like to believe that the Redmond giant is able to provide more accurate and concrete estimates of GTA 6 than many of the sources of questionable reliability that are so popular on the net.
