1980 is the first year of the first date with Giovanni Mignoli who returns to follow the television adventure of “Mixer” in his new “Mixer – Twenty years of TV”, broadcast from Thursday January 12th in the late evening on Rai 3 (and from January 18th also on Wednesdays at 21.15 on Rai Storia). The episode brings to life Mignoli’s famous “face to face” in 1980, such as the one involving Paolo Rossi and Bruno Giordano, two champions on trial for a football betting scandal; Bettino Craxi and Marco Panella; Maurizio Vitale Umberto Terrasini, Father of the Constituent Assembly; Giovanni Torrisi, Chief of Defense Staff and P2 Lodge member. The proposed survey back in 1980 is that it is about the system of parties and voting, which Giorgio Napolitano and Claudio Martelli discussed with Minoli, while the report of the international scope on the topic “Islam and the burqa” was very proactive.
There is no shortage of cinema and music: the first through the story of the great Italian cinema with Leo Benvenuti with Monica Vitti, Ugo Tognazzi and Alberto Sordi; The second with Gianni Mina and his interviews with Adriano Celentano, Gianni Morandi, Francesco Di Gregori, Lucio Dalla, Pino Daniele. In the end, there is no escaping the editorial by Gemma Pontini, better known as Paolo Villaggio.
From Room A in Radio RAI, directed by Luca Mancini, Minoli recounts the great themes and turning points of Italian history at the end of the 20th century, with new editing, different narrative plot and critical editorial style, more than 40 years later, revisiting narrative power and documentary value For his historical digs and their protagonists, his investigations, his face-to-face and his stories, highlighting the continuity between those eighties and the nineties and the photography of our country today – ever since, Mignoli himself says, “Today’s world began yesterday.”
