Patients with Parkinson's disease de Libre regret that society lives “with its back” to the disease

Practicing speech, working on coordination through music, or playing ping-pong are among the treatments to improve the daily life of Parkinson's patients. The disease, which affects half a thousand people in Terres de Libre, affects the nervous system responsible for controlling movement. We don't know the cause or the cure and we still live with our backs to society.

In order to raise awareness of this disease, the Terres de l'Ebre Parkinson Association launched a project in schools. Through some tests, students can feel the same symptoms they are experiencing.

The association promotes treatments that help delay symptoms, while serving as a meeting point for people who are going through the same thing.

This is the case of Tony Martinez, the veteran. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 17 years ago.

One of the misconceptions surrounding the disease is that it only affects the elderly, but this is not the case. Before he was 50, Jordi Soumalo was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He admits that at first he was out of place during treatment. But now he says it's the best thing he's ever done.

April 11 is World Parkinson's Day. A date on the calendar is necessary to show the disease is still occurring silently.
