Felton, 29, turned himself in early Tuesday morning, hours after the Knicks loss to the Dallas Mavericks at Madison Square Garden, after his wife Ariane Raymondo-Felton’s lawyer brought a pistol to the 20th precinct in New York and Raymondo-Felton went to the station later to tell them he had threatened her with it in an altercation on February 14th.

Felton was charged with one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and one count of criminal possession of a firearm, both felonies in New York State. Felton posted his $25,000 bond and was released, where he was picked up in a black SUV by his parents. There is also a six-month order of protection keeping the two away from each other.

Felton, who had been listed in many trade rumors around the NBA trade deadline last week, is still under contract through this year and next year, with a player option the year after that. He is averaging 10.4 points and 6.0 assists on the season. The Knicks play again on Thursday in Miami against the Heat. There are no restrictions on Felton’s ability to travel.
