NBA Christmas Day TV Guide

Merry Christmas everybody!

We here at the Skyhook hope everyone is enjoying a great day with family, food, and of course, the NBA.

While the NFL commandeers Thanksgiving, the NBA takes over Christmas to showcase a number of games – all of which are on national television. To let you in on who’s playing, where and when they can be seen, and which ones you should watch, here is Saving the Skyhook’s NBA Christmas Day TV Guide.

Chicago Bulls at Brooklyn Nets – 12:00 p.m. ET – ESPN

This game sounded great at before the season. You had Derrick Rose coming back and the Nets were expected to challenge the Heat in the Eastern Conference. But now? Just stay away, stay far away. Go open presents, go eat, go play cards with your family. Do anything. This game is going to be a disaster.

Oklahoma City Thunder at New York Knicks – 2:30 p.m. ET – ABC

This one at least has the potential to be an interesting game. The Thunder are great, obviously, and Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook will put on a show. Hopefully Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith get hot and turn this into a game. Otherwise, this one may be over by halftime.

Miami Heat at Los Angeles Lakers – 5:00 p.m. ET – ABC

Merry Swagmas, everybody.

The Swagtime Lakers lead by the Swag Mamba (© @highkin) taking on King James and the two-time defending champion Miami Heat. This game sells itself.

Houston Rockets at San Antonio Spurs – 8:00 p.m. ET – ESPN

It unfortunately appears that James Harden may not be playing tonight, but this still should be a great game. The Rockets have plenty of options on offense and Dwight Howard has been a beast down low recently, averaging 24 points and 13 rebounds in his last five outings. Plus, Gregg Popovich won’t sit his three stars like he did the last time the Spurs were on national TV.

Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors – 10:30 p.m. ET – ESPN

Looking at the five games, this figures to be the best of the bunch.  These teams, lead by Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson put up points in a hurry, and we can certainly expect each team to be over 100 points by the time this one is over. Plus, these two squads have a bit of a rivalry going back to last season, so this figures to be a highly entertaining affair.
