IMPORTANT: Dana Barros Rapping Over Highlights of Dana Barros Playing Basketball

If you are reading this, you probably know that Dana Barros used to play in the NBA.

You may also know – depending on your age, and knowledge of the game – that Barros starred at Boston College, was drafted 16th overall in 1989, had a 14 year career with the Seattle SuperSonics, Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, and Detroit Pistons and even made an All-Star team in 1995.

There is a chance, although unlikely, that you know Dana Barros once scored 50 points in a game. It’s true! On March 14, 1995, the 76ers took on the Rockets in Philadelphia. The Rockets won 136-107, but Barros poured in 50 points on 21-26 (!!!) shooting, including 6-8 from downtown.

What I’m almost positive you don’t know, however, is that Dana Barros also used to rap. And that he has a rap song called “Ya Don’t Stop” with Grand Puba, Diamond D, and former player Cedric Ceballos. And that the song (along with a solo track titled “Check It”) was featured on a CD called “Basketball’s Best Kept Secret,” which featured numerous NBA players – from Chris Mills to Gary Payton. And that “Ya Don’t Stop” is actually a pretty solid song.

I’m sure you’re interested in checking out highlights from Barros’ 50 point explosion. You’re probably also eager to listen to Barros’ skills on the mic. Well, I have just the video for you.

Watch and listen as Barros’ verse from “Ya Don’t Stop” plays over highlights of Barros (looking like a young Allen Iverson in his number 3 Sixers jersey) dropping 50 points on the Rockets.

Trust me, it’s worth it.
