Vinaròs Hospital invests €61,500 in retinography for ophthalmology consultations – Vinaròs News

press release

The Vinaros Health Department has acquired a new wide-field retinal imaging device dedicated to the ophthalmology service with the aim of achieving better diagnosis and surgical planning.

Retinography is a non-invasive diagnostic test that can identify eye problems such as diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, or hypertensive retinopathy, among other eye problems. The new retinogram allows simultaneous and detailed assessment of the central and peripheral retina with high resolution in one shot, and up to 180 degrees in two shots. It also allows for true color and infrared images, as well as autofluorescence images.

The total investment made by the Ministry of Health of Vinaros in this new equipment amounts to €61,500 and is part of a program to acquire new, state-of-the-art equipment.

“Our goal is to constantly improve the technology available to our users to deliver high-quality health care using the latest technology possible,” noted Department Director, Anna Tigello.
