Try to steal a Banksy mural in Jostomel, you get arrested
A group of people tried to steal a mural by British artist Banksy from a Russian-bombed building in Gostomil, Kyiv region. Police stated that they had arrested those responsible, as reported by the BBC. The region’s governor, Oleksiy Kuleba, said the mural, which depicts a woman wearing a gas mask, was not damaged. He said: “These images are, after all, symbols of our fight against the enemy, they are stories of support and solidarity of the entire civilized world for Ukraine. We will do our best to preserve these works of street art as a symbol of our victory.”
Police posted photos of the yellow wall in Gostomel, with a large patch cut up to the brickwork. Banksy released a video of his Ukrainian artwork last month, with the artwork showing people going about daily activities in bomb-damaged buildings in Ukraine.
