The U.S. military on Friday announced that it had launched a drone strike on the Islamic State “organizer” in Khorasan (IS-K), which was responsible for the deadly attack on Kabul airport.
The drone strike took place in the Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. At the first sign, we killed the target, “said Bill Urban, chief of The Christian Science Monitor’s Washington bureau.
Also, the United States is asking its compatriots to leave Kabul airport.
The U.S. embassy in Kabul on Friday warned U.S. citizens to “immediately” leave the airport.
“US citizens in Abe Gate, East Gate, North Gate or the new Interior Ministry should leave immediately,” the embassy said on its website without further details. The day before the attack on Thursday, a similar warning was issued.
More details will come.
