A couple who owned a restaurant in Brazil were killed on Friday, November 24, in the tourist resort of Porto Seguro. The police are currently searching for the perpetrator (or more likely the perpetrators) of the murder which may have been caused by an attempted robbery.

The police are investigating the theft hypothesis, but have not ruled out other reasons for the crime. Gunshot marks were found on the two bodies.
According to the initial reconstruction of the incident, David’s body was found in the restaurant’s kitchen, while his wife’s body was found outside the restaurant, without clothes, near the river bank. Given the position of the body at the time of its discovery, forensic medicine assumed that the woman tried to escape after hearing gunshots coming from inside the room while she was showering.
Erica da Silva Santos would have tried to throw herself naked from the first floor balcony, but would have been stopped and then killed.
Farewell to the couple
The police pursuing the case have already questioned the couple’s employees and neighbors, but will soon also interview the victims’ families to find the perpetrator and close the case.
The funeral was held last Saturday in the city hall of Itagemeren (Bahia, Brazil), the woman’s hometown and where they were both buried.
