Israel And Morocco, West, sunset Israel’s Ministry of Science and Technology said today that it has agreed for the first time to cooperate on technology and science projects. Orit Farkash-Hacohen, the Israeli Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, headed to Morocco to sign the agreement with the Moroccan Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation Abdellatif Merawi.

The two countries will cooperate in the areas of artificial intelligence, water desalination, desert technologies, food processing technologies, biotechnology, renewable energy, medical technology, pharmaceutical industry, smart cities, automobile industry, information technology, space, humanities and social sciences.

Israel and Morocco agreed to normalize relations in December 2020 as part of the Ibrahim Accords brokered by the United States. It is the third technology agreement that Farkash-Hacohen signed with the countries of the Ibrahim Agreement. The minister has already signed a space agreement with the United Arab Emirates and a technical agreement with Bahrain.
