MútuaTerrassa organizes the first day of vaccinations and vaccinations

Next Thursday, May 16, MútuaTerrassa Primary Care will host its first Vaccine and Immunization Update Day celebration. This first edition intends to cover a total of six presentations, a roundtable on epidemiology as well as practical case presentations, and around seventy specialists are expected to participate.

Presentations and conferences during the day

The welcome will take place at 8:50 a.m. and will be presented by Joel Basto, Head of Nursing at CAP Rambla MútuaTerrassa and Dolors Heras and Estefania Uña, both of whom are responsible for the comprehensive vaccine administration service of MútuaTerrassa. As for the presentations, they will address the first results of Nirsevimab, the global strategy for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) prevention or the protective effect of the rotavirus vaccine against the development of celiac disease.

After that, another conference will be held to analyze the impact of the 2019-2023 influenza vaccination campaign at the University Hospital of Mutua Terrassa (HUMT), that is, the situation will be presented regarding the vaccination of healthcare workers in the rest of Catalonia. .

The remaining two presentations will address vaccination in adults as well as in immunocompromised patients. As for the roundtable, there are two topics that will be discussed: the current status of whooping cough and measles.

Apart from several primary care specialists from the entity, the day will also see the participation of experts from the Pediatrics, Occupational Health and Infectious Diseases Service of HUMT as well as specialists from Bellvitge University Hospital, of the Public Health Agency of Catalonia as well as the vaccine group AIFFIC. About seventy professionals are expected to participate.
