In the beginning “Noos – The Adventure of Knowledge” with Alberto Angela

Rai Cultura series in six episodes dedicated to scientific dissemination and different fields of knowledge: Alberto Angela’s new program “Noos – The Adventure of Knowledge” starts on Rai 1 on Thursday 29 June at 21.25. The first episode begins, according to tradition, with stunning images of nature, with the story of a lioness and her cubs fighting for survival on the Serengeti plain, between Kenya and Tanzania.
Alberto Angela’s guest star is Harrison Ford, who will return to play Indiana Jones in the fourth film in the series: a fictional archaeologist enthusiastic with the same curiosity that is the guiding spirit of “Noos.” Other guests will also be in the studio who will return several times throughout the series: astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti will lead an exciting journey into space that begins on this first liftoff episode; Historian Alessandro Barbero, speaking of Napoleon, will show the role played by propaganda in building a historical figure; Writer Carlo Lucarelli tells the story of Prussian blue, “the color of the devil”. Cicap National Secretary Massimo Polidoro will warn about fake images generated by artificial intelligence; Twenty-five years after the invention of the “blue pill”, sexologist Emmanuelle Janini will talk about our sexual behavior, while nutritionist Elisabetta Bernardi will explain the mechanism of satiety and how to encourage it with anti-hunger biscuits.
The Adventure of Knowledge, the program’s subtitle, unfolds through a series of movie services. Particular attention is paid to the theme of the environment: immersed in the depths of the island of Giglio, we will see how a scientific team took care of the marine environment that was damaged after the sinking of the Costa Concordia.
Curious about everything that moves in the field of scientific research, “Noos” went to the Sant’Anna School in Pisa: here an artificial hand was created that responds to the movements contemplated by the patient; An achievement on the border of science fiction. And speaking of science fiction, you’ll see with Luca Perry just how believable and improbable he is in “Star Wars” lightsabers.
The first episode of Nouss also honors the memory of the great scientist Margaretha Hack, who passed away on June 29 ten years ago. Following in his footsteps, Edwige Pezzulli will present his “Cradle of Stars”, some great images of space obtained from the James Webb Space Telescope.
The field in which Noos operates is very broad with a special focus on the future: what are the new sources of well-being and prosperity? In the future, it may be the Arctic that will transform itself from a barren expanse of ice into the promised new land of governments and multinational energy corporations. And looking back: how are the mummified bodies of 17 nuns who died in the 17th century preserved to this day in a convent in Lazio?
Giuliana Galati and Ruggiero Rollini will present some physical and chemical phenomena that can also be observed at home, in particular liquids that behave in a singular manner, such as liquids and solids. And finally, writing: how did the alphabet come about? This will tell us a pen in the voice of Paola Cortelsi.
