Talented, creative, and motivated people still exist in our apathetic society. But beyond being hardworking, organized, perfectionist, and highly responsible, we will find fewer of them.
Since ESO started at IES Sant Ramon, en Xavi Ventosa has proven to be a keen student. Who actively participated in extracurricular theater, organized center carols and even some karaoke! He was a student you could always count on, demanding, punctual and extremely hardworking.
When he started leading either in the theater or in the band he was still a teenager. But he devoted himself entirely to it, spending his summers making the necessary arrangements. No one knows and will never know. How many things did Xavi give up for Banda de Cardona?
I don’t want to exaggerate now whether he has decided to leave the group temporarily, although his followers are very sorry. But we all know that like the legendary group’s song Esquirols, Xavi “planted his roots in Panda, and grew towards the sky”He now hopes that his work will bear “abundant fruit.” We hope that it will, and that the seedling he left behind will continue its work without him, although they know that if the band needs him, he will reach out and support them.
Unfortunately, I think his efforts have not been sufficiently appreciated. The band was present, in the parades, in all the big fiesta events, in concerts inside and outside Cardona, in Pastorets, in political and social events… It was directed by Xavi and was a pleasure to listen to. Of all the work, sweat, disappointments, and suffering if the musicians didn’t go to rehearsals, we never wanted to know anything about it, just admiring the end result was enough.
So, Xavi, we understand that you now need to leave your band and take the reins, and that you will remain passionate about whatever you decide to do. We hope that once you have enjoyed new experiences, you will return to the band that made you grow as a musician and as a person. We look forward to that!
