The world of otaku and geek culture arrives in Tortosa with the Ebre Freak Salon, which can be visited this weekend on April 20 and 21 in the Remolins Exhibition Hall. The Starraco Unlimited Association is the organizer of a competition about the fantasy and science fiction genre in the world of manga, anime, cinema, series, comics and video games. In addition to an area with shops for all kinds of merchandise, with a special highlight of the characters, there are also photo shoots and cosplays of characters such as Spider-Man, One Piece, Haikyuu, Akira (with a replica of Kaneda's motorcycle), Sailor Moon, Guardians of the Night, Dragon Ball, Naruto or Tokyo Revengers, among others.
There are also stalls for comic books, especially of the manga variety, but also have space for superhero comics and used classics. In addition, there are also areas for virtual reality, video games and vintage consoles, but also a space for board games and role-playing games, an area for conferences and musical performances (with flashy Asian idols), and various booths for painters and craftsmen who want to make a place for themselves in the world of painting and commerce. There is also a shared space to leave messages of condolence and gratitude for Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball or Doctor Slump, who passed away a few days ago.
The salon opened its doors on Saturday morning and attracted mainly a crowd of young people and families. The largest attendance is expected on Saturday afternoon and throughout the day on Sunday. Entry for children is seven euros and 10 euros for adults, but you can enter and leave the grounds and it continues all day. For this reason, there is also an area with food trucks, where you can taste different dishes of Asian cuisine, as well as hamburgers.
