Girona poet and video artist, Esther Zargay, died on Friday in Palamos (Girona) at the age of 63.

Born in San Feliu de Guixols (Girona) on April 12, 1960, Zargay is distinguished by the experimental will of her poetry, by playing with language and transgressing with form.

She is the author of poetry books and video poems such as “Els ángels soterrats”, “Darrere les tanques”, “Trenca-sons”, “Exida al sostre” and co-authored with Carles Hack-Moore “Un pedrís de mil raons”. , among other things.

The Institute of Catalan Literature expressed its regret over Zargay's death in a note on the social media network

Catalan literature is “in mourning” over the death of Zargay, the author of radical, experimental and playful work, the Secretary of State for Culture, Jordi Martí, confirmed in a note compiled by Europa Press.

Institutions such as the Catalan Language Writers Association, Pen Català, the Ramon Llull Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona have mourned the death of the poet from Girona.
