BYD Seal U, the new electric SUV for Europe makes its debut at the Munich Motor Show

BYD It was presented at IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich Yu stamp, an electric SUV that will be marketed in the first months of 2024 in the countries of the old continent in which it is present, including Italy. Prices have not been disclosed yet. More details to this effect will be announced closer to its market launch date.

Up to 500 km of autonomy


BYD torrent yo Measures 4,785mm long x 2,085mm wide (with mirrors open) x 1,668mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,765mm. The luggage capacity is 552 liters and can be increased to 1440 liters by folding down the rear seat backrests (60:40).

The D-Class electric SUV features a design that follows the stylistic philosophy that the Chinese brand has used to develop all of its recent models. Thanks to its size, there is plenty of space for passengers inside the cabin. There is, of course, a lot of technology. Behind the steering wheel we find the large screen of digital instruments. However, the dashboard is centrally dominated by the 15.6-inch infotainment screen that can rotate as on all of the car manufacturer’s latest models.


The passenger compartment also offers several storage compartments, and smartphones can be recharged wirelessly. Upon its launch in the European market, the new BYD Seal U will be offered in two versions, both with blade battery with LFP (Lithium-Iron-Phosphate) cells produced directly by the Chinese company.

The electric SUV will always be able to count on a 160-kW (217-hp) motor with a battery capacity of 71.8 or 87 kWh. For the model with the largest battery, BYD advertises a range of up to 500 km based on the WLTP cycle. More details about the technical specifications of the European model will be revealed over the next few months.
