Turin – Torinese’s original school, Juventus school. Then Siena, Sassuolo and Carpi were at an early age, always connected to the black and white world. And since 2015, when he said goodbye home, the Grand Tour and confirmations have been coming to Waregem, Bari, Verona, Crotone and Monza. now Luke Brown, 33, is looking for her next adventure. Physically ordained, he evaluates the offers his agent has received between Italy and abroad. And in these hours, he does not lose sight of Juventus. Because first love is never forgotten.
Brown, since you two played together, did you expect things to end up like this between Bonucci and Juventus?
“When you’re on the wing, I think it’s wrong to judge. But Leo is a great footballer, he gave so much to Juventus and he will always be remembered as a legend of this club.”
Having said that, surviving in a hostile environment shouldn’t be easy…
“It’s personal and subjective situations. And I speak from what I’ve experienced on my own skin. For a footballer, feeling confident around you is everything.”
You’ve lived the Juventus world far and wide, what do you think of lately?
“Football is cyclical, and there are others too. Let’s not forget that this club wrote the most beautiful page in Italian football with nine consecutive championships. And now Juventus is facing a physiological phase of rebuilding.”
And Allegri?
“I’ve had him for a season, he’s a balanced person who doesn’t get excited when things are going well and doesn’t get depressed when the wheel isn’t turning. He knows the environment very well, and can make a positive difference.”
Let’s get to it: do you have any regrets about ending your adventure at Juventus?
“No, I felt good. I won 3 scudettos, two Super Cups and one Coppa Italia. We’re not youth teams. I played with great champions and made excellent relationships that I still maintain. For sure, you I can always do better, But if I look back I see a beautiful path. For this I have to thank my family and loved ones who have always supported me.”
How did it go in Monza?
“A good experience, the journey associated with promotion to Serie A I will never forget. Then, you know, in football things have a beginning and an end. But I am still linked to the environment, it is a place that deserves a lot.”
And what about the future?
“Not being in the pre-season training camp never happened to me. I’ve had some offers, I’m training to arrive in the best conditions. I feel good, I’ll decide without haste.”
