Attilio Senza, one of the world’s foremost wine experts, has been awarded the ‘2023 Khel Prize’

Among the leading experts in the Italian and international viticulture and wine world, with his passionate work on the research, information and culture of the wine system he has been carrying out for decades, combining scientific studies, genetics and anthropology. It remains a reference point for generations of operators in this sector. The “Pino Khel Award 2023” from the movie “Civiltà del bere” went to Attilio Scienza, world renowned professor and agronomistdedicated to “VinoVip al Forte”, the biennale that brought together the best Italian wine production in Forte dei Marmi, “for its relentless commitment to promoting fine Italian wines to the world”.
Professor Attilio Senza taught at the University of Milan and was Director of the S.Michele all’Adige Agricultural Institute. He was awarded the “Aei Prize” for research in 1991, the “Morsiani International Prize” in 2006, and the “Oiv-Paris Viticulture Prize” for the best scientific book on viticulture and viticulture in the years 2003, 2008, 2011, 2012, and 2017. Author 380 scholarly publications and 32 printed texts dealing with artistic and cultural topics.
The award was devised by the director of “Civiltà del bere” Alessandro Torcoli to remember journalist Pino Gil, founder of the magazine and pioneer in the promotion of quality Italian wines.over the years to personalities such as Lucio Caputo, President of the Italian Wine and Food Institute, Lucio Tasca (Tasca d’Almarietta), Piero Antinori, Pio Bova (Pio Cesare), journalist Cesare Bellone, Piero Mastroberardino ( Mastroberardino) and Chiara Lungarotti (Lungarotti).
