The Pyrénées continue to advance their commitment to sustainability

Andorra la VellaGrup Pyrénées continues to bet on sustainability and takes another step to raise awareness among customers and consumers about preserving the planet. In conjunction with World Environment Day, the Pyrenees region is launching an initiative to encourage paper savings through the purchase of printed tickets. This way, customers using My Pyri will be able to save the printed receipt through the app and enjoy their purchase history in digital format. Pyrenees estimates that the initiative will save up to 600 trees each year, which will be needed to manufacture the paper used in printed tickets among all the group’s business divisions.

This measure is in addition to those launched in recent years and which have been very well received by customers, such as the multi-use bags for the products of the leakage and vegetable department, the reusable and paper shopping bags, or the 100 sustainable and plastic-free packaging, among others.

The company’s commitment to sustainability and rational use of energy is nothing new. Several facilities in which the various business units of the business group operate have already been added to the FEDA Green Light Seal. This certification identifies companies that have certified the renewable source of the electrical energy they consume and that the energy they use is 100% renewable. In this sense, the commitment to using less polluting energies, reducing the environmental footprint and polluting gases, and achieving significant savings in carbon dioxide emissions annually is emphasized.

In line with environmentally responsible policies, the Pyrenees also continues to be a reference in the field of electric mobility. Apart from displaying the vehicles in the automotive section, the company signed an agreement with Andorra Park Hotel to provide its customers with an electric vehicle for transporting passengers. It represents an additional commitment to the natural environment by both companies, as the car is a Mercedes EQS, which is one of the latest and most luxurious models in the 100% electric category.
