ICGEB presents “Objectives of Science”

How can scientific research achieve the sustainable development goals? At a festival near/far in Udine, on Saturday 14 May at 3pm, Icgeb presents the first episode of the documentary “Objectives of Science” that answers that question by telling how its researchers validated a faster and cheaper diagnostic system for the virus. SARS-CoV-2. A dialogue will follow between scientists and creators to talk about how the project is conceived and implemented and the effectiveness of telling science through stories.

The first six episodes will be presented near/distant where two of the Sustainable Development Goals in which Icgeb is active are addressed: promoting inclusive and accessible health and existing collaboration to do so. Icgeb as a scientific research organization in the field of biotechnology has organized its activities around the six Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for the United Nations: Zero Hunger in the World, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Clean and Accessible Energy, and Industrial and Industrial. Infrastructure innovation and collaboration to achieve goals, with gender equality always present.

The event will be attended by Icgeb Emanuele Buratti, researcher and one of the episode’s protagonists, Suzanne Kerbavcic and Fabio De Pascale, from the Communications Office, as well as Stefano Pellizzaro and Riccardo Vencato from Wannaboo video production.

The full documentary will tell six stories about how researchers and staff at ICGEB are working towards sustainable development. The project is implemented by Icgeb thanks to funding from the Autonomous Community of Friuli Venezia Giulia in collaboration with the Near / Far, the Municipality of Trieste and the Pietro Pettini Foundation. The Objectives of Science will be presented in September on the occasion of the Trieste Next Festival of Scientific Research.
