It was an exciting night of hoops across the Association last night, highlighted by a Damian Lillard buzzer beater that lifted the Portland Trail Blazers to an overtime win over the visiting Detroit Pistons. We also saw the Oklahoma City Thunder hold off the Orlando Magic to stay unbeaten at home (12-0), and the Phoenix Suns held on in the 4th quarter to pick up a nice victory over Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Tonight we have eight games on the schedule, including a late night meeting between the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers that should be rather entertaining. For now, however, take a little break and catch up with some reading with today’s suggested basketball readings from across the web.
The Brooklyn Nets’ season to date has been quite the disaster. Injuries, coaching drama and poor play have all contributed to the team’s pitiful 8-15 record. Another issue for the Nets has been the lack of production from the offseason acquisitions, including Paul Pierce. Over at Hickory High, David Vertsberger wonders if it is time for the Nets to try and get some return from their poor investment.

With a win last night over the Golden State Warriors, the Phoenix Suns improved their current win streak to five games and moved 14-9 on the season. A big reason for their win last night was P.J. Tucker’s defense on Stephen Curry late in the game. Over at SB Nation’s Bright Side of the Sun, Jacob Padilla wrote about Tucker’s early season success.
