USA: A Victory for the Gun Lobby, Banning the Dissolution Cause – North America

(ANSA) – ROME, March 3 – A victory for the National Rifle Association, the powerful American arms lobby. A judge blocked New York Attorney General Letitia James’ attempt to dissolve the organization, but authorized it to proceed with the lawsuit. CNN reports.

For the judge, the prosecution failed to prove that the organization’s mishandling of funds caused harm to Americans. The ruling also states that the dissolution of the armed pressure group “could have an impact on the rights of its members to freedom of expression”.

Charles Cotton, president of the National Prostate Association, called the judge’s decision a “resounding victory” for the organization and its 5 million members. James was defeated but declared that he would continue his lawsuit to show that “fraud, abuse and greed permeate the organization and its leaders”. (handle).
