Charles Leclerc with Ferrari takes first place in the US Grand Prix. The driver from Monaco, 21st in his career and third in the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship, entered Q3 with a time of 1:34:723 and tomorrow on the grid of the Texas Circuit he will start ahead of the McLaren. Briton Lando Norris (+0”130) and Mercedes’ Briton Lewis Hamilton (+0”139). Fourth place and second row belong to the other Ferrari, led by Spaniard Carlos Sainz.
Dutchman Max Verstappen, already world champion with Red Bull, occupies sixth place on the starting grid and closes the third row opened by British Mercedes George Russell. In the fourth row, the Alps, for Frenchman Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon. Rounding out the top ten, in the fifth row, are the Red Bull team led by Mexican Sergio Perez and the McLaren of Australian Oscar Piastri.
“We did a great job with the team. We know that on these Sprint weekends it becomes important to have a free practice session without problems and we succeeded,” explains Leclerc. “I felt good, qualifying went well and I’m very happy to start from pole position. I love this track, I love the track, the city, the country. It’s great to be here.”
