(ANSA) – NEW YORK, July 21 – Donald Trump has attempted to “destroy our democratic institutions” and “open the way to chaos and corruption” to overturn the outcome of the vote. This was stated by Benny Thompson, chair of the investigation committee on January 6.
Today, the public hearing of the Commission of Inquiry opened on 6 January. In the courtroom to testify live, there are two of the former Trump administration, former Deputy National Security Adviser Matthew Pottinger and former White House spokeswoman Sarah Matthew. Matthew left the administration on January 6 because he was “disturbed” by the events of the attack on Capitol Hill. Pottinger resigned on the night of the attack over Donald Trump’s tweet calling Mike Pence a coward.
