The Minyons plan to move their activity to Cal Reig in mid-June

The Minions of Terrassa team will move all their activities to Cal Reig in mid-June. This was explained by the group’s president, Jaume Maeso, during a visit to the future new headquarters of the Molokhia, currently under construction, with the Minister of Culture, Natalia Garriga, and the mayor of Terrassa, Jordi Balart. Therefore, the relocation date has been delayed, although the facilities will be partially open for the Modernism Gallery for Colla’s first performance in the new Cal Reig arena.

On Saturday, May 11, on the occasion of the Modernista exhibition, part of the facilities will be opened: the ground floor and the backyard. It will be in this space where the Minyons will carry out the performance and activities planned throughout the day. After the Modernista exhibition, the space will be closed again to finish the works and finish all the installations around mid-June, at the latest before the Terrassa Major festival, to be able to move all the activities to the new place.

Until then, the group will continue rehearsals in the Carrer del Teatre, a space that the egarenca-sized organization left small. The new building will contain a ground floor with a covered rehearsal area of more than 250 square metres, in addition to an outdoor courtyard, kitchen, rouge room, storeroom and secretariat, in addition to the bar, which will be brought over from the bar/restaurant Zorrito. On the upper floor there will be meeting rooms, changing rooms with showers, a barbecue room and a room for events.

This change means a technical improvement, more comfort and not having to suffer from the rain. “We will have the possibility to practice like the major Castellari gangs,” Maeso said. “At the moment we were in somewhat precarious circumstances.”

The group expects all installations to be completed in July

Although the group will leave the building on Carrer del Teatre and move to Cal Reig around mid-June, some details will still be missing to finish the space, such as an elevator or some kitchen elements, for example. In this sense, it is expected that everything will be completed in July. The group will let the summer months pass by to celebrate the official opening of the new space in September.
