Leipzig have officially announced the arrival of Eljev Elmas from Napoli. It did so through a statement on its website. Eljiv Elmas will move from SSC Napoli to RB Leipzig on 1 January 2024. The 24-year-old will sign a long-term contract for four and a half years until June 2028 and will wear the number 6 shirt of the RBL in the future. The midfielder will travel directly with the team to the training camp in La Manga on January 2. Elmas leaves Napoli for 25 million euros, after 189 matches and 19 goals, winning the Italian Cup in 2020 and the Scudetto last year. A process conducted by mediator Jorge Gardi.

De Laurentiis had practically abandoned him in recent days, making his position clear. “Elmas was really sold. He's someone who always wants to play, and he didn't understand that you were a starter even if you didn't play ninety minutes. Did he play a little bit this year? Spalletti had also had him the previous year in order to evaluate him. This year we had two coaches.”
