In Cremona of the United States, Bucks County Youth Orchestra

The Bucks County Youth Orchestra (YOBC), an American youth orchestra, will perform on Sunday, July 17, at 9:00 p.m., at Cortile Federico II, in Cremona, as part of the 12th edition of the Cremona Summer Festival.

The Cremona Summer Festival is organized by the Cremona Chamber of Commerce with the “Claudio Monteverdi” Institute of Musical Studies, with the contribution of the Lombardy region and with the sponsorship and cooperation of the Municipality of Cremona, the Violin Union “Antonio Stradivari”. Makers Cremona, Cremona International Music Academy, Tourist Club, Casalmaggiore International Music Festival, Florence Youth Festival.

Festival concerts are free and free entry is subject to availability. In case of bad weather, concerts will take place under the arcades of the courtyard itself.

The American Youth Orchestra of Pennsylvania was founded in 1991 with the goal of creating new opportunities for young musicians to achieve artistic excellence and enrichment through the study of classical pieces and specialized teaching. YOBC’s mission is to develop the skills of every musician at every level through a comprehensive program. This also happens with master classes, guest artists, concert competition and international tours. In addition, YOBC constantly strives to support scholarships and school services for isolated and underserved communities.

Robert Logran is conductor of the Bucks County Youth Orchestra and YOBC Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the College of Art at Princeton High School, where he serves as music director, Westminster College Choir at Rider University and Bucks County Community College. Robert Loughran, who graduated from Gettysburg College in the arts and Northwestern University in music, studied with Joseph Baron (Montaux School) and Herbert Blomsteadt, Liepzig Gewandhausorchester’s principal. He has performed with the Princeton Grand Youth Orchestra, Temple University’s Talented Young Musicians Baroque Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
