Alcova reveals the expanses of the former slaughterhouse of Porta Vittoria

Alcova, in its fifth edition, will unveil the articulated and monumental spaces of Ex-Macello di Porta Vittoria in Milan, hosting more than 70 projects and bringing together new and established institutions and brands, a wide range of design studios and a cross-section of emerging talent. The exhibition will explore different and complementary trends in contemporary design practices, from research into innovative and sustainable materials to contemporary sensual craftsmanship and design. A special occasion to experiment with design in an urban setting is not to be missed.

Dropcity second edition

Dropcity 2023 Convention, the winning project of the second edition of the Architecture Festival, promoted by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, brings to life the Magazzini Raccordati of the Central Station. Dropcity architecture and design center, conceived by architect Andrea Caputo and developed thanks to Nhood, produces and hosts an extensive program of exhibitions, installations, conferences and talks with the participation of architects and designers of international level.

Morel unveils its industrial architectures for the first time

Formerly the home of cotton fabric manufacturing for shoes, Morel has been presenting its original industrial architecture since the 1930s, and is not a simple industrial site, but an authentic, well-kept place. For Design Week, Morel decided to cement the nearly 100-year history of manufacturing in which it was founded. Thus a reflection of our future arose where the key word is know-how in the name of craftsmanship, creativity and gastronomy in an unprecedented collaboration between designers, artisans and gastronomes. On stage are site-specific installations by Mandalaki and Macheia and a culinary project jointly designed by Morel and Tipografia Alimentare titled A FUOCO LENTO. Colmar invites us to think about reuse

Thanks to the meeting with the young Dutch designer Kees Dekkers, Colmar Again was born, a project in which art meets the company in the year of its centenary, all the way to a greater awareness linked to environmental sustainability. Ready-to-wear, defective garments or their components (fabrics, straps, buttons, logos), destined for pulp, get a second chance inside the No Waste Chair, a container chair made of clear, recycled plexiglass for content making. The project will see 20 chairs, each filled differently and therefore unique, displayed in the store in Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan with a suggestive composition.
