Alcova reveals the expanses of the former slaughterhouse of Porta Vittoria

Alcova, in its fifth edition, will unveil the articulated and monumental spaces of Ex-Macello di Porta Vittoria in Milan, hosting more than 70 projects and bringing together new and established institutions and brands, a wide range of design studios and a cross-section of emerging talent. The exhibition will explore different and complementary trends in contemporary design practices, from research into innovative and sustainable materials to contemporary sensual craftsmanship and design. A special occasion to experiment with design in an urban setting is not to be missed.

Dropcity second edition

Dropcity 2023 Convention, the winning project of the second edition of the Architecture Festival, promoted by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, brings to life the Magazzini Raccordati of the Central Station. Dropcity architecture and design center, conceived by architect Andrea Caputo and developed thanks to Nhood, produces and hosts an extensive program of exhibitions, installations, conferences and talks with the participation of architects and designers of international level.

Morel unveils its industrial architectures for the first time

Formerly the home of cotton fabric manufacturing for shoes, Morel has been presenting its original industrial architecture since the 1930s, and is not a simple industrial site, but an authentic, well-kept place. For Design Week, Morel decided to cement the nearly 100-year history of manufacturing in which it was founded. Thus a reflection of our future arose where the key word is know-how in the name of craftsmanship, creativity and gastronomy in an unprecedented collaboration between designers, artisans and gastronomes. On stage are site-specific installations by Mandalaki and Macheia and a culinary project jointly designed by Morel and Tipografia Alimentare titled A FUOCO LENTO. In the heart of Brera, installed by Agostino Iacurci for glo™

An imposing installation that wraps around the majestic tower in Largo Treves that will become the centerpiece of the Brera Design District. Agostino Iacurci (an artist internationally recognized for his unique use of color and great drawing power) creates a work that invites the viewer to look to the present to imagine the future, reflecting the rapid transformations of our landscapes.

Timberland celebrates the 50th anniversary of its historic shoe at the Triennale

Marking the 50th anniversary of the original Timberland® boot, Timberland is presenting the first chapter of FUTURE73 VISIONS at the Triennale Milano. The AI ​​installation created by Ouchhh, a creative studio specializing in new media, celebrated FUTURE73 and Suzanne Oude Hengel, one of six visionaries invited by Timberland to reinterpret the brand’s iconic shoe with their idea of ​​bold innovation.

Artemiste revives one of the most atmospheric apartments

In the splendid setting of Cesare Correnti 14, an elegant 1930s residence in the heart of the 5Vie district, Artemest presents L’Appartamento. Curated by six prestigious international interior design studios, the apartment will tell different creative visions in dialogue with each other. Each of the different rooms of the house will be furnished by a different interior designer using only furnishings, accessories, lighting and art created by a select group of Italian artisans, brands and artists who collaborate with Artemest. Artemest invites you to discover the world of high Italian craftsmanship through the creative vision of Anne-Sophie Pailleret, Kingston Lafferty Design, MONIOMI Design, Nina Magon, Styled Habitat and T.ZED Architects.

Koehler returns to wow us at the Palazzo Senato

Kohler, winner of the latest edition of the Fuorisalone Prize, presents the world premiere of the monumental aerial sculpture Noli Timere, by acclaimed artist Janet Eichelmann, hung in the frame of the historic Palazzo Senato. The brand is unveiling limited edition products featuring four unique female artists from around the world to celebrate the company’s 150th anniversary. Kohler offers an interactive digital experience where visitors become artists, playing around with colors, patterns, and shapes within a space.

The great return of Ingo Maurer to the Toll stalls at Porta Nuova

Ingo Maurer, a well-known lighting brand, returns to Milan with an exceptional open city event. On the occasion of Euroluce 2023, he presents his passionate creativity with a remarkable light installation in a prestigious and unexpected new location. The poetic brand will astound the audience with an outdoor scenographic lighting installation at Caselli 11-12 in Porta Nuova, while inside the two buildings it will showcase its new products.

Colmar invites us to think about reuse

Thanks to the meeting with the young Dutch designer Kees Dekkers, Colmar Again was born, a project in which art meets the company in the year of its centenary, all the way to a greater awareness linked to environmental sustainability. Ready-to-wear, defective garments or their components (fabrics, straps, buttons, logos), destined for pulp, get a second chance inside the No Waste Chair, a container chair made of clear, recycled plexiglass for content making. The project will see 20 chairs, each filled differently and therefore unique, displayed in the store in Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan with a suggestive composition.
