It already happened, and no, it’s not April Fools’ Day. In fact, on the 1st of this month a Ferrari 488 GTB was badly damaged in the UK, after just 3.2km of driving and just left the Baytree Cars sale in Derby, Derbyshire. The cause of the collision is related to speed. The athlete first ended up on a sidewalk and then hit a guardrail. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but for the new owner of the Maranello car, the bill that will be drawn from his wallet will not be indifferent. A similar event occurred at the end of last January, when another driver destroyed a very rare Ferrari Enzo against a tree in the Netherlands.

Damage

In the accident, the 488 GB — which was purchased Friday morning and drove for a few minutes, local police confirmed — came out with a dent on the front bumper and hood, while the headlights went out shortly after the explosion. The damage, fortunately, should be repairable. However, in addition to the damage, there was an insult. The driver will be fined approximately 119 euros because the sports car does not have the front panel.

Just over 21,000 km

Before the guy bought it, the 488 GTB, which was finished in Rosso Corsa, had been driven only 21,565 kilometers and was previously owned by two different people. The sports car also features a carbon package, with many carbon-fibre elements, and is powered by a 3.9-liter V8 centerline engine with 680 horsepower at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 760 Nm at 3000 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in exactly three seconds and can reach 330 per hour even if this speed may not have been reached by the owner, fortunately.
