The Sant Cugat Private Foundation, as part of its goals to stimulate public debate, proposes this short course on AI to talk about what AI is and what it is not, what opportunities and risks it entails and what developments are expected from AI. The conferences, with free admission, will be held on Mondays 22 and 29 April and 6 May at 7pm at Casa de la Cultura.

In the first session on April 22, an introduction will be presented under the title: What is artificial intelligence? Origins, business areas, opportunities and threatswith the participation of businesswoman and science publicist, innovation and technology expert Uría Rodríguez and historian and politician Josep Borjaya, which will be moderated by Joan Barba, from the Sant Cugat Foundation.

The second session will take place on April 29 Opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence in education and medicine With the participation of the teacher and professor specializing in the educational use of the Internet, Ramon Barlam y Aspas, a communications engineer, who holds a doctorate in neuroscience, and professor of the Department of Biomedicine at UB Roser Sala Llonch. On this occasion, Joan Jaya, founder of Sant Cugat, will be managing it.

In the last session on May 6, we will talk about Social and political consequences and governance of artificial intelligence, with the participation of Jordi Macias y Montada, IT architect and CEO of AGTIC Consulting, member of the Board of Directors of CIVICAi, and Ramón Palacio y León, telecommunications engineer and associate professor at UPF, as well as member of the Board of Directors of CIVICAi. It is run by Alvar Ruda, Rector of Santkojatinc University.
