Twenty-seven years after the killing of rapper Tupac Shakur, who was killed by four bullets fired from a moving car in September 1996, Las Vegas police announced they had arrested a male suspect. And he – as he mentioned CNN – Written by 60-year-old Duane Keith Davis, also known as “Keffe D.” Last July, police searched his wife’s home as part of the investigation into the shooting incident and confiscated a book written by Davis in which he revealed that he was “one of the only two witnesses to the attack” on the rapper. Tupac died when he was just 25 years old, after six days of agony from bullet wounds he sustained.
Investigations of the years between conspiracy theories and musical controversies
Over the years, there have been numerous investigations conducted by the Las Vegas Police, federal law enforcement agencies and some independent investigators, but no one has been identified and arrested for the rapper’s murder. Over the years, various conspiracy theories have spread about who was responsible for the singer’s death, as well as the hypothesis that Tupac’s murder was in fact just a play by the rapper himself to escape the spotlight and the many problems caused by musical controversies. At an early stage of the investigation, it was also hypothesized that there was a Crips gang role in the shooting, on the orders of the Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy and other prominent members of the East Coast.
