(Washington) Évincé des grands réseaux sociaux depuis l’assaut meurtrier du Capitole, l’ex-président américain Donald Trump a annoncé mercredi qu’il lançait une action collective contre Facebook, Twitter, Google et leurs patrons, en les accusant d’être responsables d’une « censure illégale, inconstitutionnelle ».
« Aujourd’hui, aux côtés de l’America First Policy Institute », une organisation qui promeut les politiques défendant « l’Amérique d’abord » de Donald Trump, « je dépose, en tant que principal représentant, une action collective majeure en justice contre les géants de la technologie comprenant Facebook, Google et Twitter, ainsi que leurs patrons Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai et Jack Dorsey », a annoncé le milliardaire dans son club de golf de Bedminster, dans le New Jersey.
Ces trois patrons « mettent en œuvre une censure illégale, inconstitutionnelle », a-t-il affirmé lors d’un discours formel, derrière un podium où son nom était inscrit. Les spectateurs ont applaudi son annonce.
« Nous demandons au tribunal fédéral du district sud de la Floride d’ordonner l’arrêt immédiat de la censure illégale et honteuse de la part des groupes de réseaux sociaux visant les Américains », a-t-il expliqué. « Nous exigeons […] The end of forced silence ”.
“There is no better proof that Big Tech is not in control than that they banned the President of the United States from office,” he stressed.
“If they can do it to me, they can do it to anyone. Besides, that’s what they do, ”he said, giving a voice to citizens who claim to be victims of the ban.
“We are engaged in a fight that we are going to win,” he promised.
In June, Facebook suspended Donald Trump for two years.
Unprecedentedly, the Republican Party was already suspended on Jan. 7 when it was president for encouraging its supporters during the attack on Capitol Hill in Washington.
The social networking site Twitter also kicked him out after the murderous attack on the Capitol during the January 6 victory ceremony of his rival Joe Biden.
Prior to the ban, Donald Trump had nearly 89 million followers on Twitter, 35 million on Facebook and 24 million on Instagram.
He explained on Wednesday that Google and YouTube had “removed countless videos that dared to question the World Health Organization’s verdict” during the epidemic.
