USA, Buses loaded with immigrants left in front of Kamala Harris’ house. Washington: “Cruel ploy”

Three busloads of immigrant families from Texas arrived near the home of Vice President Kamala Harris on Christmas Eve in a record cold. This was reported by local associations in Washington.

Texas authorities have not confirmed their involvement, but it may be Procedures consistent with previous procedures of US border state governorswho intended to draw attention to the immigration policies of the Biden administration.

The buses that arrived late Saturday were carrying around 110-130 people, says Tatiana Laborde, general manager of Samu First Response. Some of the migrants were wearing only T-shirts even though temperatures hovered around -9 degrees Celsius. It was the coldest Christmas Eve on record in Washington. The association members prepared buses to take the migrants to the church, where they then spent the night.

Laborde said local organizers expected the buses to arrive on Sunday, but on Saturday they found out the group would be arriving in Washington early. There were also young children on board.

Samu First Response is an organization working with the City of Washington to help thousands of immigrants who have arrived in the city from the South in recent months. Most of those arriving on the three buses were destined for other destinations and were only expected to stay in Washington for a short time.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s office did not respond to a request for comment Sunday morning. His office said last week that Texas has provided bus trips for more than 15,000 people since April to Washington, New York, Chicago and Philadelphia. Abbott and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, both Republicans, are highly critical of President Joe Biden for his handling of the US-Mexico border, where thousands of people try to cross every day, many of them seeking asylum. Officials on both sides of the border are seeking to help set up shelters and services for the migrants, some of whom sleep on the streets.

Republicans argue that Biden and Harris, appointed as the administration’s liaison on the root causes of immigration, have eased restrictions that have caused many people to leave their home countries. White House spokesman Abdullah Hassan called the arrival of the buses “a cruel, dangerous and shameful stunt”. “As we have said time and time again, we are willing to work with anyone — Republican or Democrat — on real solutions, like the comprehensive immigration reform and border security measures that President Biden sent to Congress on his first day in office, but Hassan said in a statement today.” These political games lead nowhere and only endanger lives.”
