It’s been a while since Kevin Love has made an appearance on Pass of the Night. Luckily for us, he was back to his old tricks: throwing full court outlet passes on the money to get his teammates easy baskets.
Last night, the Denver Nuggets traveled East to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Target Center. It was an all-around effort from the Nuggets, as eight players scored in double figures on the way to a 117-110 victory. Ty Lawson continued his strong season, leading the way with 23 points and 4 assists.
As for the Timberwolves, they got strong games from all five starters, but their bench let them down, chipping in just 10 points in the loss. Kevin Martin led all scorers with 29, while Kevin Love scored 19 and pulled down 15 rebounds.
Two of Martin’s 29 points came courtesy of Kevin Love, who fired a beautiful outlet pass to the guard. Late in the 4th quarter, the Wolves were down 103-95, and trying to make a comeback. After forcing a stop, Love jumped to secure yet another rebound. Immediately, Love looked up and spotted Martin flying up the court. Using his quarterback-like skills, Love flicked his wrists, sending the ball flying the whole length of the court. The pass dropped smoothly into Martin’s hands, giving him an easy layup. (Love was so quick with his pass, that the camera almost misses it. You can just barely catch a glimpse of the ball leaving Love’s hands.)
