With the way the San Antonio Spurs started the season, it’s almost felt like they would keep on rolling for a while regardless of who they were playing. After all, they were 29-4 a few nights ago, a record that most people didn’t see coming before the season started, and they are a team filled with veterans that just find ways to win.
But after a poor defensive showing last night at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks, the Spurs followed that up with a tough loss at Boston tonight against the Eastern Conference-leading Celtics. Manu Ginobili had a chance to tie or win the game for the Spurs in the final seconds, but chose to take a difficult shot at the three point line that was ultimately blocked by Paul Pierce.
