MHG is participating in the 24th edition of the Girona International Amateur Theatre Festival (FITAG), and the air raid shelter of the Jardí de la Infància will host the show Avui no dormo als teus braços, produced by Delit Teatre, from Viladecans. This montage follows the life of the poet, journalist, athlete, teacher and photojournalist of the Catalan war, Ana María Martínez Saje (1907-2000). A transcendent figure of the 20th century who has been unjustly forgotten for her confrontation with the law and order.
The story begins in Barcelona in the late 1920s and goes through the turbulent 1930s, where the protagonist lives, from the front line, on the Aragonese front, the Spanish Civil War. Afterwards, Ana María Martínez Sagi is forced into exile in France, where she lives through World War II and the post-war period; finally moving to the United States where she teaches French literature for twenty years. Once the Franco dictatorship is over, he returns to Catalonia and ends his days in a residence in Moya.
In addition, the work shows the frustrated relationship with the great love of the protagonist, Elizabeth Mulder, and the conflicting relationship she had with Catalan intellectuals. In short, it is the story of a woman ahead of her time.
Delit Teatre has been present in the theatrical scene for more than thirty years. For the members of the group, professionalism and seriousness on stage and in rehearsals are fundamental principles, and as an amateur group, they feel proud to be able to put them on stage. They have performed works such as Othello, Hamlet, Nora, La plaça del Diamant (in a group adaptation), Samarretes estes
Al Tirat (a collection of texts for the group), Terra Baixa and Un Tramvia called Desig, among others.
