The National Security Council spokesman, John Kirby, confirmed, “The president’s remarks are entirely consistent with what we’ve been saying on the JCPOA, and it’s not a priority for us at this time.” “There is no progress in the Iranian understanding at the present time, and we do not expect any progress at any time in the foreseeable future,” he added.
